About the Author

“Beatrice Majthenyi Mercuriano was born in Massa Carrara, Italy, after her parents fled their homeland during the Hungarian revolution of October 1956. The little family eventually found themselves on Canadian shores with the help of several prominent Italian leaders and the Canadian Red Cross. Although, they didn’t understand the language, her father’s engineering degree was able to secure him a position with the DHO, now called the Ministry of Transportation. As the family grew, they eventually settled in the small, peaceful town of Chatham, Ontario.

 

Inspired by her high school English teachers, her passion for writing flourished. Upon graduating from the University of Toronto, Beatrice did a variety of jobs, one of which was teaching elementary school, as well as dance to students of all ages. 

 

Beatrice and her husband are the proud parents of three girls and one miniature poodle. She enjoys horseback riding, hiking, skiing, and walking her dog!”
